In a brazen robbery on Thursday evening, a domestic worker and five accomplices held the family of Ashok Chawla, a liquor businessman, hostage at their residence in Golf Links, New Delhi. The assailants, who allegedly had prior knowledge of the family's valuables and the house layout, threatened the elderly couple, their daughter-in-law, and a child before fleeing with jewellery worth approximately ₹25 lakh (around $30,000 USD). Thankfully, no one was physically harmed during the ordeal. Police have launched an investigation, suspecting that the domestic help, identified as Sushil, played a key role in facilitating the crime. CCTV footage shows the suspects entering the house in a coordinated manner, suggesting meticulous planning. Authorities are currently analyzing the footage, conducting raids in states like Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, and utilizing informants to track down the suspects. Investigators are also examining call records and other technical evidence to identify the culprits.
