Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) continues to struggle with injuries as seamer David Payne has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL 2026 season due to an ankle injury. This setback follows the earlier announcement that fellow English pacer Brydon Carse is also sidelined with a hand injury sustained during practice. Payne, who played two matches for SRH, had limited success, taking two wickets but conceding a total of 70 runs in five overs. He was initially brought in as a replacement for Jack Edwards, who withdrew from the tournament due to a foot injury. In a silver lining for SRH, captain Pat Cummins has received the green light to return to play after successful scans indicated his back issue has resolved. Cummins is expected to rejoin the team in time for their match against Rajasthan Royals on April 25. SRH will next face Chennai Super Kings this Saturday, followed by a match against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.
