Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) achieved a historic milestone on April 18 by becoming the first team in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to play 100 matches at a single venue, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This landmark match was against the Delhi Capitals and started at 3:30 pm IST. RCB celebrated this achievement by wearing specially designed green jerseys as part of their Green Day initiative to raise environmental awareness. The team with the second-most matches at a single venue is the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with 98 matches at Eden Gardens. RCB's relationship with the Chinnaswamy Stadium has been tumultuous, especially after the tragic deaths of 11 fans during celebrations for their first IPL title in 2025, which led to safety concerns and restrictions on hosting large events. Despite these challenges, RCB managed to secure the right to play five out of their seven home games at this iconic venue this season. Additionally, RCB captain Rajat Patidar hinted that the IPL final might also be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, indicating the venue's importance in the tournament.
