In a tragic incident in Thatchur near Ponneri, Tamil Nadu, two men, John and Manikandan, both aged 24, were arrested for the murder of Palanivel, a security guard. The attack occurred when Palanivel refused to give the duo money for liquor. Reports indicate that the suspects entered the abandoned school campus in an inebriated state and assaulted Palanivel with a log when he resisted their demands. A neighbor discovered Palanivel's body, which had sustained severe head injuries. The Kavaraipettai police have sent the body for a postmortem examination at the Ponneri government hospital. The suspects were apprehended based on CCTV footage from the crime scene, highlighting the importance of surveillance in solving violent crimes.
