Late on Saturday night, Hardeep Singh, the in-charge of a liquor vend, was attacked by three assailants in the Vishal Nagar area of Ludhiana, Punjab. The attackers, armed with sharp-edged weapons, intercepted Singh's vehicle and stole ₹22 lakh (approximately $26,500 USD) as he was en route to deposit the day's earnings. The incident occurred around 10:15 PM when the assailants approached his Mahindra Bolero. Following the attack, Singh alerted his employer, Shivkaran Singh Bisla, who operates multiple liquor vends under the Ganganagar Group. Police believe that the assailants had prior knowledge of Singh's cash deposit routine, suggesting they may have tracked him from Phullanwal Chowk. Investigations are ongoing, with police analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity and forming multiple teams to apprehend the suspects. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, focusing on robbery and related offenses, and authorities are optimistic about resolving the case soon.
