The report indicates that while India ranks among the world's most advanced AI markets, the adoption of OpenAI's tools is three times more concentrated than in countries like the United States and Germany. OpenAI's findings suggest that there is a significant opportunity to broaden access to AI tools beyond these urban centers. The study also emphasizes the need to address the 'capability gap'—the difference between the advanced capabilities of AI models and their everyday usage. OpenAI plans to enhance AI adoption by focusing on language accessibility, affordability, and infrastructure development. Notably, regions such as Assam and Jammu and Kashmir show higher engagement with ChatGPT for educational and health-related queries, respectively. OpenAI is actively working to promote AI literacy and usage through partnerships with local organizations and educational institutions.
