S Kathiravan, the current MLA representing the Manachanallur Assembly constituency in Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, is campaigning for a second term. During his tour of various panchayats, including Pichandarkovil and Koothur, he sought votes for the DMK's Rising Sun symbol. Kathiravan highlighted his achievements over the past five years, stating that he addressed the needs of residents by implementing several development projects funded by MLA constituency development funds and various Tamil Nadu government initiatives. He emphasized improvements in basic infrastructure such as roads, drinking water, streetlights, drainage, and sanitation, as well as welfare schemes benefiting women, students, and farmers. Kathiravan assured that with continued public support, a 'Dravidian Model 2.0' government under Chief Minister MK Stalin would further enhance development in the region. He also accused the opposition, particularly the AIADMK alliance, of spreading false allegations and attempting to intimidate his supporters, urging voters to reject such tactics and support him for re-election.
