The administration plans to cancel the licenses of these contractors and blacklist firms across 24 factories. Additionally, the contractors have been ordered to pay ₹1.16 crore (approximately $140,000 USD) in dues owed to workers. Additional Labour Commissioner Rakesh Dwivedi stated that notices were issued to contractors who deprived workers of statutory benefits, and further scrutiny is being conducted on those linked to recent vandalism during the protests. In light of wage hike demands, a 21% increase in wages has been implemented for workers in 74 scheduled employments, effective from April 1. Payments based on the new wage rates are expected between May 7 and May 10. Authorities emphasized that no deductions other than mandatory contributions to the Employees' Provident Fund and Employees' State Insurance are allowed, and violations will lead to strict action under labour laws.
