On April 18, the Haryana Government launched a large-scale anti-encroachment campaign in Gurugram, responding to a directive from the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the 'Stilt plus four floors' policy. The operation commenced in DLF Phase-1, where enforcement teams from the Town and Country Planning Department executed simultaneous demolition drives. Authorities reported the removal of over 215 guard rooms, 250 park encroachments, and more than 100 ramps and staircases. The campaign aims to reclaim public spaces such as roads and parks from illegal constructions. DTP (Enforcement) Amit Madholia supervised the operation, which will continue in a phased manner across all licensed colonies in Gurugram. Residents have been urged to voluntarily remove encroachments, with strict actions planned for non-compliance. The drive also targeted areas like South City-1 and Palam Vihar, ensuring obstruction-free access to public areas.
