The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that there was no formal contract signed with Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani regarding his participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This admission comes amid a dispute following the PCB's decision to impose a two-year ban on Muzarabani for allegedly breaching a verbal agreement with Islamabad United. Muzarabani's agent, Rob Humphries, has strongly refuted the PCB's claims, asserting that his client did not enter the PSL draft and thus did not sign any contract. He characterized the ban as excessive and unwarranted, emphasizing that discussions with Islamabad United were contingent upon obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Zimbabwe Cricket, which could not be pursued without a formal contract. The PCB, however, maintains that key terms were agreed upon via email, creating a binding obligation. Despite the controversy, Muzarabani has played two matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League, but was subsequently dropped from the squad.
