In Mohali, Punjab, police have arrested two men, Sahil Jagda from New Tehsilpura and Amar from Golden Avenue in Amritsar, for allegedly hacking mobile phones through fake shopping links. According to Mohali Superintendent of Police Dilpreet Singh, the duo recently targeted Manoj Kumar, a resident of Dehradun, by sending him a fraudulent link. After gaining access to his phone, they used his credit card to make purchases totaling approximately ₹1.25 lakh (around $1,500 USD), including three Motorola mobile phones. The accused operated by circulating deceptive links disguised as legitimate shopping websites, tricking users into providing sensitive information. Police recovered three sealed boxes of Motorola phones, a grey Chevrolet Cruze, and several credit and debit cards from the suspects. A case has been registered at the Phase-1 police station, and further investigations are underway to identify additional victims and the operation's mastermind.
