The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched investigations into Sanjeev Arora, a Punjab minister and member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), conducting raids at his residences and business locations in Ludhiana and other regions. The agency is probing multiple allegations against Arora and his associates, including illegal changes in land use, insider trading, and the round-tripping of illicit funds from the UAE. Arora, who promotes M/s Hampton Sky Realty Ltd, expressed his commitment to fully cooperate with the investigation, asserting that he is confident the truth will emerge. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has criticized the ED's actions, suggesting they are politically motivated as Punjab approaches state elections. The investigations also involve Arora's business partners, Hemanth Sood and Chandrasekhar Aggarwal, who are implicated in various financial crimes, including facilitating money laundering and operating illegal betting platforms. The ED's scrutiny follows previous allegations against Arora, linking him to significant financial misconduct that has reportedly harmed the state exchequer.
