Delhi is set to unveil its first state-of-the-art ice skating centre by August 2023, located at the DDA Sports Complex in Dwarka Sector 23. This facility, covering 4,200 square meters, will feature a standard rink measuring 60 meters by 30 meters, adhering to international competition norms. It aims to cater to various winter sports, including ice skating, figure skating, ice hockey, and curling. A senior official from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) mentioned that most civil work is complete, and internal fittings are underway to maintain optimal ice conditions. The rink will serve as both a training facility and a recreational space for the public, promoting winter sports in the region. The project is part of DDA's vision to transform Dwarka into a hub for specialized sports complexes, with ongoing developments in football, hockey, tennis, and aquatics.
