On Friday, Harivansh was re-elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, marking his third term in the role. Raghav Chadha (AAP) congratulated him and expressed gratitude towards Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan for allowing MPs ample speaking time. However, Chadha took a jab at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership, pointing out the absence of party Chief Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Leader Ashok Kumar Mittal during the proceedings. He emphasized his presence despite being recently removed from his deputy leader position. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other leaders, welcomed Harivansh and acknowledged his contributions to the House, noting the significance of his re-election coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar. Modi highlighted Harivansh's connection to Chandra Shekhar, mentioning his book on the former Prime Minister.
