On Thursday, MK Stalin (President of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party) spearheaded protests across Tamil Nadu against the Centre's proposed delimitation bill, which he condemned as a 'Black Law' that would diminish the political voice of Tamils. During the protests, which included burning copies of the bill and raising black flags, Stalin expressed his determination to oppose the perceived arrogance of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a demonstration in Namakkal. He called for widespread dissent, encouraging citizens to hoist black flags at their homes and public places. The protests saw participation from coalition partners, including the Makkal Needhi Maiam, Left parties, and other regional groups, all united in their opposition to the bill. Stalin's message emphasized the need for Tamil Nadu to resist any attempts to undermine its political strength, reflecting a broader sentiment of regional pride and autonomy.
