Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Germany from April 21 to 23, 2024, to strengthen the strategic defence partnership between India and Germany. This visit, the first by an Indian Defence Minister in seven years, will include bilateral talks with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and discussions on enhancing defence industrial collaboration, military engagements, and emerging domains like cyber security, artificial intelligence, and drones. The two ministers are expected to sign a Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and an agreement for cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Operations Training. This visit follows Boris Pistorius's trip to India in June 2023, emphasizing the strong and multifaceted strategic partnership between the two nations, rooted in democratic values and a commitment to a rule-based international order.
