In a remarkable achievement, government schools in Chandigarh recorded a 43% increase in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 results for the 2025-26 session. The overall pass percentage rose to 88.25%, a significant jump from 81.18% last year. A total of 17 schools achieved a 100% pass rate, while 23 recorded pass percentages above 95%. Among the top performers, Government Model High School (GMHS) in Kishangarh saw the highest improvement, with its pass percentage soaring from 54.38% to 98.11%. Other notable improvements included GMHS Manimajra Colony, which improved from 58.66% to 100%, and GMHS Sector 32D, which rose from 58.13% to 98.82%. The results also highlighted challenges, as GHS Sector 47 recorded the lowest pass percentage at 32.65%. The UT administrator and Punjab governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, praised the teachers' efforts and emphasized the commitment to the 'Mission 100' initiative, which aims for full attendance and pass rates in government schools. The total number of students passing increased from 7,940 to 8,257, with girls outperforming boys in the exams.
