Kase Wynott, a 6-foot-6 guard and the all-time leading scorer in Idaho high school basketball, has signed with the Idaho Vandals men's basketball team. Wynott, who scored 2,962 career points and averaged nearly a triple-double during his senior year at Lapwai High School, brings a wealth of talent to the Vandals. Idaho coach Alex Pribble expressed excitement about Wynott's return to his home state, emphasizing his scoring ability and competitive nature. Previously, Wynott played two seasons at Washington State University, where he averaged 1.2 points as a freshman and 4.0 points in five games last season. The Vandals are actively recruiting, having also signed Canadian guard TJ Wal, who averaged 18 points per game, and California guard Nolan Newman-Gomez, who averaged 22.4 points and was the valedictorian of his high school class. With these additions, the Vandals aim to build on their recent success after winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament and making their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 36 years.
