In a detailed post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he outlined how various active war zones, including those in Ukraine, Gaza, and Yemen, are interconnected through alliances and geopolitical rivalries. Dalio noted that these conflicts involve major global powers and could be viewed as a classic world war scenario. He pointed out significant alliances, such as China's alignment with Russia and the US's partnerships with European and Gulf nations. Dalio described the US as the most overextended major power, with over 700 military bases worldwide, while also being the weakest in terms of sustaining prolonged conflict. He cautioned that countries might reassess their positions regarding US support and global security as the US-Iran situation evolves. Dalio referenced a historical pattern he calls the “Big Cycle,” which outlines steps leading to major wars, suggesting the world may currently be at Step 9, where multiple conflicts occur concurrently. Despite his warnings, he remains hopeful for a peaceful resolution based on cooperative relationships.
