His staff successfully secured commitments from Stevie Elam, a transfer from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Preston Copeland from Ball State. Steele noted that the team's success this season, including winning an NCAA tournament game for the first time since 1999, was a result of hard work and building a strong team culture.
