Yaseen Khan, the former security chief for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, recently addressed the ongoing speculation regarding the salaries of celebrity bodyguards. In a podcast interview, he clarified that the widely circulated figures of bodyguards earning between ₹2-2.5 crore (approximately $240,000-$300,000) annually are exaggerated. Instead, he revealed that most bodyguards, including those protecting high-profile stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, typically earn around ₹1 lakh (about $1,200) per month. Yaseen emphasized that while some may receive additional compensation during film shoots, this is not the norm for everyone in the profession. He expressed concern over the misinformation spread on social media, stating, “It’s not like people earn ₹2-2.5 crore. If someone is a bodyguard for a big star, they have a fixed salary.” Having worked with Shah Rukh from 2001 to 2011, Yaseen has since established his own security firm in Mumbai, which provides VIP protection and has collaborated with other notable figures such as cricketers Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.
