Phillips scored only 19 runs off 16 balls, contributing to an average of 20.33 this season. Doull questioned the effectiveness of GT's middle-order batters, stating that they struggle to capitalize on scoring opportunities, which could be problematic in high-scoring games. Despite these concerns, GT celebrated their third consecutive win after starting the season with two losses. Doull also praised GT's captain, Shubman Gill, who scored a remarkable 86 runs off 50 balls, making him the leading run-scorer of IPL 2026 with 251 runs at an impressive average of nearly 63 and a strike rate of 154.93. Doull noted that Gill's performance is enhanced on pitches with good bounce, allowing him to showcase his batting skills effectively.
