In a devastating incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, eight children were killed in a shooting early Sunday, which authorities believe was an act of domestic violence. The Shreveport Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance in the 300 block of West 79th Street around 6 a.m. and found a chaotic scene involving multiple locations. Police spokesperson Christopher Bordelon reported that the shooting occurred at one site, with related incidents at two other nearby locations. The victims, aged between 1 and 14 years, were part of a tragic event that has shocked the community. In total, 10 individuals were shot, and two others were injured. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was later killed by police after a car chase that involved a carjacking. Mayor Tom Arceneaux referred to the incident as possibly the worst tragedy the city has ever faced. This shooting follows previous violent incidents in Shreveport, including a July 4, 2023, shooting that left four dead and seven injured.
