Renault is set to transform its operations in India by adopting a dual-platform strategy aimed at expanding its product offerings to seven models by 2030. The French automaker plans to introduce the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP) to cater to the budget segment below ₹10 lakh (approximately $12,000 USD) and the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP) for higher-value and electrified vehicles. According to Stephane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group in India, the RGEP will support a competitive lineup while the RGMP will facilitate the company's electrification strategy. The newly launched Duster SUV is the first vehicle under the RGMP, which is designed for scalability and adaptability, supporting various vehicle formats from 4.0 to 4.7 metres. Renault aims for a 5% market share in India, with plans to progressively introduce its E-Tech solutions starting in 2026, including the Bridger SUV and eventually a fully electric vehicle. The India Engineering Centre will play a crucial role in developing technology and software for these new models.
