This constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Caste category, with 24.86% of its population belonging to this community. The total voter count stands at 1,78,793, comprising 85,724 men and 93,008 women. The literacy rate is notably high at 90.33%, according to the 2011 Census. Voting will take place on April 23, 2026, and the results will be counted on May 4, 2026. In the previous election in 2021, the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance secured 159 out of 234 seats, showcasing its stronghold in the region.
