Google has expanded its 'Notebooks' feature in the Gemini app, making it available to free users after initially launching it for paid subscribers earlier this month. The Notebooks function serves as a project workspace, enabling users to create various outputs, including video overviews, infographics, and summaries, which help simplify complex information. Users can store conversations, files, and sources in their notebooks, enhancing their research and brainstorming process. Notably, any conversation within Gemini can be saved to the notebook, and users can customize their responses by controlling tone and style. Free users can manage up to 50 sources, while those on higher-tier plans can access 100, 300, or even 600 sources depending on their subscription level. Although the feature is currently live on desktop, it is expected to roll out to mobile and Mac apps in the coming weeks as Google refines the user experience.
