Ranoj Pegu (Assam's Minister for Higher and School Education) has clarified that the announcement of the Assam Higher Secondary (HS) results for 2026 will not take place on April 17, 2026, as previously rumored on social media. Pegu labeled these claims as mere 'rumors' and emphasized that an official announcement regarding the result date is still pending. Students have expressed concern over the uncertainty, impacting their mental well-being, and are calling for formal communication from the government. The Assam HS exams were conducted from February 11 to March 16, 2026, with 330,744 candidates participating. The Arts stream had the highest enrollment with 230,091 students, followed by Science with 57,724, Commerce with 17,869, and Vocational Education with 1,241 students. Last year's pass rates were notable, with 81.03% in Arts, 84.88% in Science, 82.18% in Commerce, and 68.55% in Vocational Education.
