Macee Overman, recognized as one of the top post players in Lafayette area girls basketball history, has been appointed head coach of the Attica girls basketball team. Overman, who has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach under Dan Dawson, aims to revitalize a program that has not achieved a winning record in seven years. During her impressive high school career, she averaged 26.7 points, 16.2 rebounds, 5.7 steals, and 3.4 assists in her senior year, earning her the title of Journal & Courier Small Schools Player of the Year in 2017. Following her successful tenure at Fountain Central High School, Overman became the all-time leader in points and rebounds at IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis) and was selected in the third round of the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury, although she did not play in the league. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Overman is also a sixth-grade math teacher at Attica Elementary School, where she continues to inspire young athletes.
