The Gujarat Titans (GT) have signed South African wicketkeeper-batter Connor Esterhuizen as a replacement for injured England batter Tom Banton for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Banton has been ruled out due to a finger injury, prompting GT to seek a suitable replacement. Esterhuizen, who recently made his international debut for South Africa against New Zealand, showcased his talent by winning two Player of the Match awards and being named Player of the Series in a five-match T20I series. His performance helped South Africa clinch the series 3-2 after being down 2-1. At just 24 years old, Esterhuizen is set to make his IPL debut with the Titans, joining the squad at a base price of INR 75 Lakh (approximately $90,000 USD), which adds valuable international experience and depth to the team ahead of the upcoming season.
