Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed officials to ensure rapid land allocation for data centre companies eager to invest in the state, particularly from Central Asia. During a meeting, he emphasized that all critical requirements, especially land acquisition, must be completed promptly. Fadnavis also instructed that power supply to these projects be prioritized, highlighting the urgency needed from various agencies. Furthermore, he called for the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra to develop a dedicated land bank for data centres and to expedite land allocation for substations. The state is also advancing the EduCity and MediCity projects, designed to attract global universities and enhance higher education opportunities. These initiatives are strategically located near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, with planning and land acquisition already in progress. Fadnavis stressed that these projects will significantly boost research, innovation, and startup growth in Maharashtra, solidifying its position as an emerging educational hub.
